The Frito Lay headquarters building is nestled in a ravine with protected views on a former ranch in northeast suburban Dallas. The 530,000 sf building is composed of three, three story rectangular wings joined together to create a triangular courtyard. The courtyard, landscaped with native stone, indigenous plants, and a waterfall, is the central organizing space with the principal interior circulation for the building occurring on its perimeter, with open office work stations adjacent. Private offices line the outer walls with views out to the landscape.
The headquarters functions as a small village with a range of support facilities including a conference center, four dining areas, company store, fitness center, and barber. Outside are jogging and walking trails, and sports fields and courts.
Furniture design includes custom designed cherry veneer work stations are standardized to allow flexibility in departmental reconfigurations.
